Life at the office today is so busy I've been doing the crossword. I've got to the extremely annoying stage of being one answer short of completing the damned thing and I'm stuck. Help. Please.
1A Life sentence would not be enough for one(10)
Assuming I've got the rest right it's B_O_R_P_E_

Poor thing. What you up to tonight Mabel? I'm just off home to fluff myself up a bit before hitting the pubs.

Fluff yourself? I thought you'd have had your own fluffer
Going to pop along to my "local" this evening, they've got some entertainment laid on and they're open until 5am. I very much doubt I will last that late.

I'm not sure whether to do the usual pub trawl or stick with the local. They all shut at 1am, and I very much doubt I will last *that* late!
