Paul Whitehouse did an absolutely spot-on spoof of it in one of the Fast Show series - had the weird naff sets and costumes, as well as the appalling translation

A CLASSIC!!! they still play it at Xmas on TV in central Europe along with Three Acorns for Cinderella .... used to love the fact that it wasnt dubbed or subtitled, just had that bloke narrator doing all the voices over the top, including girl, dwarf and that funny swimming dragon ... Im trying to get them on video off a german friend .. sad bastard, aint I :) smiling/happy/joking
