ok, this is a long shot. there was a woman singer who recorded a version of signed, sealed and
delivered, but i can't remember her name. it would have been in the mid-80s and i really want a
copy. i'm fairly sure i'll recognise her name when i see it

Was it in the charts, chine? If so, I can look it up in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles when I get
home.

The real lyrics were; "Signed sealed delivered, I'm yours."
I misheard them as: "Singing seals will eat her ..."

Didn't Chaka Khan do a version of this? Dunno if she's the one you're thinking of though...

no, it wasn't chaka. it was a real disco/soul fusion version, and she could really belt it out.

The only chart entry for the song in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles (apart from Stevie Wonder in
1970) is by Boystown Gang, listed as Signed Sealed Delivered (I'm Yours).
It reached the dizzy heights of number 50, 9th Oct 1982, and charted for three weeks. They are
described as "US, male/female vocal group"
They also had hits with "Ain't No Montain High Enough/Remember Me (Medley)" (Aug81), and "Can't Take
My Eyes Off You", which reached number 4 in Jul 1982, and charted for 11 wks.
Hope this helps, sorry if it's not the right one.

Baroness, have you been overindulging in apfel strudel und schnaps? I don't think you'll be
appearing at the office party in that lovely gown that you last wore at Georg's Ball, will you
Dear?

Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm yours
Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder, Lee Garrett, Syreeta Wright, Lula Hardaway
****************************************************************************************************
Like a fool I went and stayed too long
Now I'm wondering if your love's still strong
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Then that time I went and said goodbye
Now I'm back and not ashamed to cry
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Here I am baby
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours) Here I am baby,
oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours)
I've done alot of foolish things
that I really didn't mean
Hey, hey, yea, yea, didn't I, oh baby
Seen a lot of things in this old world
When I touched them they did nothing, girl
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours, oh I'm yours
Oo-wee babe you set my soul on fire
That's why I know you are my only desire
Oo baby, here I am, signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours
Here I am baby
Oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours) Here I am baby,
oh, you've got the future in your hand
(signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours)
I've done alot of foolish things
that I really didn't mean
I could be a broken man but here I am
With your future, got your future babe (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby, (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)
Here I am baby, (here I am baby)
Here I am baby (signed, sealed delivered, I'm yours)

How kind of you to admire my attire, Mr Brodie.
Quite a butterfly, am I not?
Though should that unbearable hag appearing she'll be straight back to the convent!
Yours, Elsa.

Did we ever get the answer to this question, as the song has been going through my head since
yesterday too? Definitely not Stevie Wonder singing it, but I'm not ruling Chaka Khan out...

i was thinking more about it last night, i'm pretty sure it was just a cover on an album, rather
than a single release. i'm now racking my brain for the hit she was well known for.

It wasn't Linda Ronstadt by any chance was it? she was a beggar for doing cover versions, both on
Album and single

no, not linda. it was a black woman who, i think, was more famous for doing soul, but this was a
disco-esque track
