do we see behind the door?
Ian Thorpe in speedos (not the all-over body suit for a change)!

Can I put in an early bid for the 5th, since I never wake up early enough? Ben Affleck, wearing
nothing but white face foundation and black make up.

And behind the correct door for the 5th is...
...a picture of Julie Andrews naked apart from stilettoes and an oven glove.
|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Rory (in the United Kingdom) 5 Dec 2000 at 01:02 GMT |

I object - this is a GAY sight - am I alone in being unmoved by a naked Julie...?

site - I mean (Julie is not a gay sight either though - Freudian slip)

|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Pier Queer (in the United Kingdom) 5 Dec 2000 at 11:05 GMT |

Given that Dame Ju is a raving lezza, we can hardly turn her away.

We can, and we should!!
Shoo, shoo, get out of here you female !!!
Ugh!! I just hope it's BIG oven glove!!
|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Mark D (in the United Kingdom) 5 Dec 2000 at 13:35 GMT |
|
|
Don't be so mean. There are ladies and others who might appreciate her in here, and Dame Julie is
(so far) only behind one door out of the 24. I'm sure there will be plenty of nice hunks behind
some of the others, although if people stir up too much trouble, we might find "Jenny" without her
infamous 'cello.

 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR BitterAndy (in the United Kingdom) 5 Dec 2000 at 13:38 GMT |

I deliberately posted early because I cant wake up early enough to opena window. I cant get out of

|
Month Six - a duo: Michael Owen only in footy socks and Craig Doyle only in the Santa hat, in a
"we're just good mates" clinch - on the end of a sunlit Holiday pier somewhere!
Okay, you can all stop that booing right now - dreams are free!! XXXXX

If it's only a dream, Tony, why stop that pair's fun at a clinch ??

Noone's opened the door for Thursday 7th yet. Well, here goes....
...and it's Bette Davis in a cat-fight with Susan Hayward, with Louise Brooks cheering them on.
Ouch! Mind what you do with that cigarette holder, Bette.
|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Pier Queer (in the United Kingdom) 7 Dec 2000 at 10:00 GMT |
|
|
No contest there - old immobilised-lips Hayward wouldn't last ten seconds with the incomparable
Bette. Bona image, all the same.
|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Mark D (in the United Kingdom) 7 Dec 2000 at 10:17 GMT |

Oh, comeon. I was thinking of her Valley of the Dolls incarnation rather than the younger Suze. More
evenly matched than you'd think!
|
 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Pier Queer (in the United Kingdom) 7 Dec 2000 at 10:18 GMT |
|
|
I suppose by the 60s Bette was a little doddery, but I still fancy her chances. Hayworth versus
Lana Turner might be a more even match.

 | Re: BLUE ROOM ADVENT CALENDAR Brodie (in the United Kingdom) 7 Dec 2000 at 23:47 GMT |

Sorry to continue this slight diversion but re PQ's and Mark D's postings I have to agree that
whilst I love La Hayward's fifties films, especially "With a Song in My Heart", I'll Cry Tomorrow"
and "I Want to Live" she was never quite in the same league as Bette. A particular example of this
was Susan's remake of Bette's "Dark Victory" in 1963 "Stolen Hours". No contest.
BTW, a lot of current 'bands' could learn from the lip-synching of Susan Hayward in " With a Song in
My Heart" it was excellent. She could in fact sing quite well as she demonstrated in "I'll Cry
Tomorrow" but like Ava Gardner in "Showboat" the studio wouldn't let her. I wonder how good the
'stars' of today might be in similar circumstances.
