Had an alarming experience last Thursday in that I got stuck in the lift up to my apartment for about an hour.
At first it just kept going up to my floor then back to ground with the door no opening at either floor. I pulled the alarm cord and eventually someone answered. After I told him what was happening he summoned the "heavy brigade" who turned out to be an exceptionally handsome, specially trained bunch of firemen. Eventually they managed to stop the lift at my floor and force open the door. They could not force it wide enough to take my wheelchair, though' this was something to do with the fact that the lift had stopped a bit short of my floor.
At this point one of these gorgeous guys joined me in the lift; it was clear that they meant this was meant to re-assure me that we were in no danger of a death plunge. It was a little more than thst since this lovely lad's warm body was crushed up against me in the lift ok I KNOW I am shallow). They debated lifting me from my chair an getting me out, then the (folding) chair. Sadly, a couple of them on the roof managed to level up the lift and the doors were then pushed open wide enough for me to be wheeled out.
Has anyone else been stuck in a lift; with or without a handsome fireman?

Never been stuck in a lift, but the thought of doing so is enough to persuade me not to unless someone lives on the 15th floor or something.

The things some people will do to get a fireman's lift!
Hope they've fixed it now, or do we have to come round and rig up a rope and pulley from the balcony?

Val.
I got stuck in a very small lift once, for half an hour. I never realised I was claustrophobic until then.

Oooh I say, Val, you going up and down like a fiddlers elbow, can't begin to tell you the pictures it conjures up in my mind, it could have been worse love, it could have been the lift in Blackpool Tower! Bless you!

I was trapped in one at my then local library when I was about 6. I tend to avoid the things now (unless necessary or I notice more than 6 flights of stairs being involved)
