Clinical Flatulation
Bonzo 29 Dec 1999 at 05:20 GMT

I wonder if anyone else in here has ever had the same problem that I'm currently having with my bf. Or, maybe someone might know if there is any medical cure available. Basically, the problem is that he keeps farting in bed. I don't mean just the occasional one, but like continuously all night long. Before I met him, my dog used to sleep at the foot of my bed but now it won't even come into the room. And it's also playing havoc with our sex life. There's no way I'm going under the duvet to give him oral, and if I try anal I might get fired out the bedroom window. Thought of telling him we should finish, but there's no way I can get a word in between his outbursts. Does anyone have any suggestion?

He's eating something he can't digest - he'll have to write down everything he eats and then cut out everything except one thing and gradually build up until he discovers what things he cannot cope with.
There are homeopathic cures available.
(I had a b/f who had a bit of a problem - he discovered he couldn't eat high fat foods).

Worst thing is that he won't admit there's any problem. When I try to speak to him about it in the day time he flatulently denies that he's doing it.

Is he using any sort of laxitive regularly? Lactulose has this effect (because, of course, it's designed to be undigestable so it works it's way through and softens the offending blockage).
As for him not believing he has a problem - all I can suggest is a cassette recorder and a long cassette. Put it on to record when you go to bed. Even then he may say it was you. Difficult one....
